For me and Mr. E the past few weeks have been quite action packed. Mr. E's birthday, Sword camp, family reunions..

All good stuff.. but also quite tiring (well at least for me as an introvert that is, haha) as it were social events that also required some traveling.

So THIS weekend.. It's time to balance it all out with rest. And recovery.. and some quality time with Mr. E.

In short..Wu Wei

Why? (that rhymes haha)

Because, over the years, one of the hardest lessons that I have learnt (the um.. hard way) is that above all else, BALANCE is key.

And some super gentle movement, perhaps.

We simply NEED more rest and balance to function. Or at least.. more of it than we tend to give (or allow) ourselves to have.

Plus, if you're anything like me.. you may even need some extra healing time every now and then, too.

As most of you have probably already experienced at some point in your life..

If we don't take care of this ourselves.. our own bodies (and minds!) will (eventually) do it for us.

And that is usually.. Well. No Bueno. Right?

Anyhow. If this resonates.. do read on below!

There are some exciting experiences coming up (more on that in the next K-newsie!) so actively making time for a bit of pre-emptive rest & recovery it is for now.

Ok, and maybe a wee lil' forest walk (or two :))

In my upcoming Online Flexi-BOOST Workshop (it's this September - aka SOON!) I will be sharing my favorite relaxing flexibility routines (yes, it's possible to combine this lol) with you.

I will also share practical tips & tricks on how YOU can integrate and apply these mini routines into YOUR daily life.

So.. What is this Flexi-BOOST Workshop all about? How did it come to pass?

I have been experimenting with mini flexibility routines to feel better (with - preferably - LESS effort) this July/August, and.. for the past few weeks I've been feeling..

more rested
more calm
more grounded
more happy
more light-of-heart
more at ease

..than I have felt in AGES.

Or well.. at least since the past forty-or-so years (lol) Even though Mr. E and I survived quite a few crazy busy weeks and adventurous weekends this year.

Plus.. an unexpected positive side-effect, my Taekwondo side-kicks are finally(!) higher as a bonus. Ha!

Tai chi moves (and learning new things) feels a bit easier and more natural, too. Even though I've made LESS time for practice this summer, and had no classes for at least 5 weeks.

What a relief.

I haz a curious

As a Flexi-BOOST WS participant you will learn:

practical recovery boosts and relaxation tips
breath work techniques for health & recovery
no-stress, pain-free(!) flexibility and mobility routines (aka the ones I use for myself)

Last but not least.. Since I've been a bit (ok, a lot!) more diligent with prioritizing SELF-CARE, it has been easier (still not easy, but easy-ER) to say NO to various invitations. (including to things I actually like to do!)

Not my favourite.. but a game changer. The self-care routine comes first.

As a result.., my creativity is (finally!) coming back, my energy is up and more level, I sleep better (last year was rough!) I eat more healthily (well at least most of the time.. yinyang haha) and I am back to reading actual books - always a good sign.

Last but not least.. all in all my health finally feels more stable, too (the wasp venom therapy I've started this spring is an excellent way to gauge my monthly zen-levels.. the body speaks the truth, especially with allergies!)

So.. I have also been posting a bit more on the socials (here, here and here)

And there's more frequent K-Newsies as well (I'm so glad we are back dudesies!) even though my laptop keyboard still does not allow me the direct use of the letter 'g' (lol!)

In short.. self-care routines do actually really WORK.

But only if you do them. Right? Which means they should be kept as simple and easy to do as possible.

AND.. they will help you with your confidence, health, posture.. the works. Which will then in turn translate into more joy in dance.. ad LIFE.

Who would have thunk, huh?

Anyhow.
