I am writing this Friday K-Newsie on a THURSDAY, because tomorrow (well today, if you are reading this on Friday :)) I have to scoot out the door right after teaching BOOST to go take a German 'Einbürgerungstest' here in my home town, Eschweiler.

What is it?

It's a one-hour multiple choice exam on the German legal & social system (aka laws & politics)

What is it for?

It is part of a series of challenges/quests (yeey) I will have to pass to be able to apply for double (Belgian-German) citizenship .
PS: One of the other challenges was a German B1-level language test (which I PASSED this January, thank you so much again for the good wishes!)

Why am I doing this?

Being 'eingebürgert' will allow me to get a German travel passport(!) and ID - which is much much easier (and quicker/cheaper) than having to go through the Berlin Embassy
I will be allowed to vote here (woohoo!) which feels very pertinent/important these days, especially as a woman.
BONUS: I get to feel like a bond girl/superhero (dance skills, black belt in several martial arts, multiple passports/languages, and - according to Mr. E - deadly charms :))

I still need to study a bit for the exam, but I think it will be ok.
