I know the past weeks has been quite surreal, and I have to admit I've been struggling to figure out what to do/feel/think in the face of current events, and I can fully imagine it is the same for some of you.

The answer in 1 word.. Kindness. I strongly feel it matters the most right now.

Next to that.. watching the clouds.

Anyhow.

Here are 4 things that can help to keep a clear mind (and movable body) these days:

Keep moving - Stress/worries really tend to 'creep' into the body and it make you feel 'stuck'. This can start sneakily draining you of energy and - eventually - clouding your thinking. If you notice you're feeling a bit extra anxious these days.. or wired/tired/both, see if you can make yourself move for just a bit. It doesn't need to be much. A deep breath, a minute of movement, a bit of gentle stretching, or 'dancing it off'. Ideally, a walk outside if you can make it. Take a moment to notice what it is your body needs. Give it that. I swear it helps (and see the list of links below for resources! for me stretching out is what gets me 'unstuck' in the most profound way, but I have to do it daily, and gently) It will ensure you'll be more able to take care of yourself, and of others. It's important.
Stay informed - In times of insecurity, watching the news on repeat (so tempting!) only serves to increase our anxiety. Yes, of course we want to stay up to date of what's happening.. just be sure to do so in a conscious way. Things that help: a. diversify your sources (I'm doing this with twitter at the moment, see below for a list of 'lists' that I follow) b. educate yourself (I know I for sure have a lack of background knowledge about a number of things that feel verry relevant right now, so I am reading up to catch up.. uncomfortable truths) See the book recommendation below for more on that! and c. Always always.. use good judgement.. Don't believe everything you think. And do your best to stay open. This is something that should never ever be underestimated. Don't let fear/uncertainty/input from one source be the only thing that drives your actions. Stay alert. Get VERY mindful of what you are feeding your mind, and what your mind is feeding you.
Turn inside When in doubt.. wait it out. Take a bit of time to shield yourself from external input for at least a few minutes per day, even in chaotic times. ESPECIALLY in chaotic times (this can mean doing nothing, meditating, journalling, laying yourself down, whatever. Anything that works for you to clear your mind) Just turn off the external noise for a bit, even if it is uncomfortable for a moment.. (to me that's always a sign that I really needed to do it) Give yourself time to process, to sort. Eventually.. this will change into listening in. Whenever I feel doubtful, uncertain, jittery.. giving myself a way to reflect (a break) immediately helps to clear my mind.
Reach out Know that you are not alone. We're all in this together. Each in their own way. If you every feel like you're not sure what to do.. if overwhelm/helplessness starts to sneak in.. do something small. A kindness. For yourself, or a loved one, or a friend, a stranger. Or all of the above. Little things matter. They matter the most. They ARE the big things. This is actually a bit what I am doing (kind of) with this newsletter, and/or with teaching online. It breaks the isolation, it helps to help. It re-focuses our energy on the little things that matter most. Find the light. Be kind. It truly makes a difference. (speaking of which, I am doing a something called 'give a BOOST' the coming weeks - see my IG live update of today for more on that, I talk a bit about this at the end, and drop me a line to learn more about it!)

Ahh.. so that's all, I guess.
